This course is designed to provide a thorough examination and appropriate application of all phases in recruiting and retaining the most qualified applicant/employee. The course examines the process of human resource planning; through to placement and exit programs (out placement, retirement, etc.) and legal considerations. The main constituents of the training process will also be examined, including the process of needs assessment, programme design, delivery, and evaluation.
On successful completion of the course students should be able to:
- Explain how the labour market operates.
- State why human resource planning is important to recruitment.
- Identify the importance of matching the right people to positions.
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of filling organizational vacancies with internal job applicants versus external job applicants.
- Describe the methods of recruiting qualified and available job applicants.
- Utilize effectively, the information outlined on an application blank and the process of conducting background checks.
- Discuss the HR department’s role in the selection decision process.
- Develop and administer employment tests and structured employment interview.
- Identify the various approaches to employee training.
- Discuss and develop a needs assessment analysis for employee for training.
- Design, implement and evaluate training programmes.
This course is open-entry. There are no prerequisites for entry.
