UCC Executive Certificate Course
Prerequisites:
- Proficiency with basic Excel functions, formulas and familiarity with charts, tables.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel in a business context is recommended.
Course Rationale:
In today’s data-driven environment, strategic decisions across industries rely on the effective understanding and use of data. Professionals—including analysts, auditors, HR personnel, realtors and developers, project managers, operations managers, sales and marketing professionals, finance and accounting staff, customer service managers, entrepreneurs, small business owners, administrative and executive assistants, consultants, and medical personnel are increasingly expected to make data-informed decisions. Yet many still lack the practical skills needed to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
Despite advances in technology, Microsoft Excel remains one of the most widely used tools for data analysis due to its flexibility, accessibility, and powerful built-in functions. Individuals and teams with strong Excel skills are better positioned to analyze performance, identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support decisions with clear, data-backed evidence.
This course is designed to build practical Excel skills specifically for real-world business decision-making. Participants will learn how to clean and prepare data, analyze it using formulas and pivot tables, and present results through impactful visualizations. They will gain hands-on experience with tools and techniques that directly support strategic, evidence-based decisions.
