This course is designed to offer a broad overview and introduction to entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is approached as a way of thinking and acting, as an attitude and behaviour.
Students will learn that entrepreneurship is a process which can be learned, repeated, and applied to any human endeavour.
In this course, students will be asked to develop a concept for a viable, scalable business. Topics will include feasibility studies, opportunity recognition, idea and product development, business model and business plan development.
On successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Identify and assess entrepreneurial characteristics and opportunities.
- Prepare a business concept and critique the viability of business concepts.
- Complete feasibility analyses to determine concept viability.
- Critique new venture ideas and the underlying opportunities that give rise to those venture ideas.
- Research and write a full business plan.
This course is open-entry. There are no prerequisites for entry.
