This course exposes students to the important aspects of the human body, and the stages of development. The Theories of the psychological stages of development are also covered.
At the end of this course students should be able to:
- Discuss the Systems of the Human Body.
- Analyze the Human Life Cycle.
- Critically examine the Human Stages of Psychological Development.
- Describe the continuum of human growth and development from the pre-natal period through the middle age years;
- Describe and discuss the main systems of the human body.
- Summarize current theories related to physical, cognitive, social and emotional development;
- Explain the influence of genetics, families, and environment on growth and development;
- Explain the diversity of human development;
- Identify and apply knowledge of developmental principles as well as factors affecting development to support individuals;
- Evaluate their thinking throughout the steps and processes used in problem solving and decision making.
This course is open-entry. There are no prerequisites for entry.
