Job Summary
The Recruitment and Enrolment Officer’s primary function is the execution of UCC’s marketing strategy, with a focus on personal selling as the primary tool. The Officer is responsible for liaising with academic departments and centre managers regarding all aspects of marketing strategy formulation and execution, in keeping with UCC’s goals and objectives. The Officer is also responsible for developing and executing various marketing and support activities, as well as relevant budgets, to attain enrolment targets.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Strategic Input
- Assist in the development and review of marketing plans, activities and budgets.
- Assist in the review of research findings, related reporting and strategy formulation.
2. Research
- Conduct competitor tracking and analysis, including the ongoing collection of data on marketing and related activities, products and, where available, enrolment and graduation statistics. Reports should be submitted monthly or whenever there are changes.
- Coordinate various research activities, including:
- Customer satisfaction surveys, twice yearly.
- Customer tracking/tracer studies to determine students’ intent and outcomes while attending and after attending UCC, yearly.
- Employers’ perceptions study of UCC and its graduates, yearly.
3. Marketing
- Recruiting activities: Develop and execute plans, budgets and activities, including appropriate follow-up actions for personal marketing efforts such as school and office visits, UCC site visits, information sessions and other similar activities. Target groups include potential students in high schools and offices, Guidance Counsellors and Human Resource Managers, parents of potential students and associated organisations.
- Promotional activities: Coordinate UCC’s presence and activities at trade shows, fairs and similar events, focusing on key events such as Edu Ventures.
- Internal marketing: In conjunction with regional centre managers, develop sustainable programmes to systematically target existing students to return for further study and provide proper follow-up and tracking.
- Website: In conjunction with the relevant departments, ensure the accuracy of salient information on the UCC website.
- Traditional signage: Provide feedback and recommendations to ensure the accuracy, good condition and visibility of UCC’s signage.
- Printed matter: Provide support by assisting in the editing, production and quality assurance of printed matter and advertising materials such as brochures, posters and advertisements.
4. Development
- Use market feedback, observations and related insights to develop methods to improve regional operations and cost effectiveness.
- Develop sustainable systems and document them for future reference.
5. Liaison
Internal:
- Manager, Recruitment and Enrolment
- Centre Managers, Regional Centres
- Regional staff, including Registry Officers and Administrative Assistants
External:
- Guidance Counsellors and their associations
- High School Principals
- Human Resource Managers

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the institution, both orally and in writing.

Experience and Educational Qualification
- At least two (2) years’ working experience in a similar or related capacity.
- Knowledge of basic computer graphics and marketing techniques.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field; graduate studies would be an asset.
