Sean Thelwell Memorial Scholarship

The Sean Thelwell Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life, service, and legacy of Sean Thelwell, a valued former employee of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC). This scholarship recognizes his dedication, professionalism, and meaningful contribution to the practice of Logistics and Operations Management and to his service to the University community.
Priority will be given to applicants who are enrolled in the following programme at the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC):
- Logistics and Operations Management or Production and Operations Management – Bachelor of Science (BSc): The scholarship shall cover five (5) specialized modules, with an estimated value of JMD 235,000. This award is tenable by eligible upper-level students. (1 candidate)
Applicants must:
- Meet the normal matriculation requirements for their selected programme or possess a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Demonstrate strong academic commitment, discipline, and a clear interest in logistics, supply chain, production, or operations management.
- Be actively engaged in university life, such as participation in student organizations, clubs, volunteerism, or other extracurricular activities that reflect leadership, initiative, and community involvement.
- Submit a written essay outlining:
- Their motivation for pursuing studies in logistics, supply chain, production, or operations management.
- How the scholarship will support their academic and professional development goals; and
- Why they believe they should be selected for the Sean Thelwell Memorial Scholarship, highlighting their achievements, character, and alignment with the values of dedication and service exemplified by Sean Thelwell.
Where suitable candidates within the specified fields are not identified, consideration may be given to students pursuing closely related disciplines
