Course: Practice-based Research 2

Course Code: PDC513
Credits: 30

This module aims to develop the methodological approach of the student’s research study. The final assessment will form the basis of their methodology chapter in the final report. Building on the previous research module, the students will further develop and articulate their understanding of the research process. The focus will be on the development of a focused research question and in light of this the formulation of the associated methodological approach and the research methods associated with this particular approach. The student will identify their learning needs and through the compilation of an action plan will provide evidence of how these needs have been met.

The second aim of the module is to examine the role of reflection within the research process and the ways in which this can be incorporated within the research design. Underpinning philosophies and the variety of approaches through which this can be achieved will be given detailed consideration.
