The objective of this course is to provide students a balanced theoretical and practical understanding of talent management and the inherent value in systematically attracting, retaining and developing talent for organisational performance. Students will be provided the necessary insights and skills required for talent recognition, management, retention, and development. Students will be engaged in applying a critical understanding of an integrated set of talent management activities that include recruitment and selection, reward and compensation management, training and development, as well as diversity management. To this end, the course will address emerging trends and issues as well as the impact of the changing local and global business environments on organisational effectiveness, and the implications for managing people as an important organisational asset.
