Corporate finance is an advanced finance course that covers the essential aspects of corporate financial decisions. These decisions include choosing between competing investment alternatives, how much debt to issue, how much equity to issue, measuring risk and return, what level of dividend to payout, working capital policy management.
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- Define corporate finance and its major elements.
- Explain the basic principles and fundamental concepts related to cost of capital and capital budgeting.
- Examine the extent to which various factors influence competing investment projects.
- Describe the factors that influence capital structure theory and policy.
- Identify the characteristics of long-term financing decisions.
- Devise strategies for implementing working capital policy management.
- Evaluate the techniques corporate managers use in corporate restructuring.
