UCC Student Nevaeh Allen Shines on National Stage, Crowned Miss Jamaica World 2026

KINGSTON, JAMAICA – Friday, January 30, 2026: The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) is celebrating a major win as Nevaeh Allen, a Business Administration student majoring in Financial Management, was crowned Miss Jamaica World 2026 during the national coronation held on Sunday, January 25 at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium, Jamaica College.
Allen stood out throughout the competition for her confidence, warmth, and purpose-driven presence. Her journey to the crown was marked by multiple achievements, including winning the Miss Jamaica World Beach Beauty title in October 2025 and earning the Most Congenial sectional award on coronation night -- an indication of both her stage presence and personal authenticity.
Reflecting on her victory, Allen described the experience as life-changing, sharing that the pageant was transformational and challenged her to grow in confidence, discipline and purpose.
Speaking on how she navigated pageantry and her studies, she remarked, “I am truly appreciative to UCC for their patience with me because the pageant had me in different parts of the island almost every day; they have been an excellent support system for me.” Nevaeh added.
President of the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean, Professor Colin Gyles, welcomed her milestone achievement, noting the broader significance of Allen’s success stating, “Nevaeh’s accomplishment is a reminder that excellence takes many forms. She has shown that academic focus and national achievement can go hand in hand, and we celebrate her wholeheartedly”.
