Participants will get an understanding of the process and advantages of marketing communications, and understand that messages must be strategically coordinated for maximum impact. As such, students will be able to appreciate the value and importance of an integrated marketing communications approach in business.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
- Apply the key terms, definitions, and concepts used in marketing communications.
- Conduct and evaluate marketing research and apply these findings to develop competitive and positioning strategies and to select the target audience(s) for the marketing communications campaign plan.
- Examine how integrating marketing communications helps to build brand identity and brand relationship and create brand equity through brand synergy.
- Choose a marketing communications mix to achieve the communications and behavioural objectives of the marketing communications campaign plan.
- Develop an integrated cross-media strategy, creative message and concept to reach the target audience and deliver the brand promise through a marketing communications campaign.
- Structure a marketing communications campaign plan based on the application of marketing concepts, principles and practices within an organization.
- Measure and critically evaluate the communications effects and results of a marketing communications campaign to determine its success.
