This course provides a working knowledge of supervisory skills necessary for dealing with human problems within the organization. It covers elements such as general management, communication, motivation, discipline, negotiation and conflict management.
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
- Examine and demonstrate an understanding of the basic functions of management and supervision.
- Analyse and utilise the four functions of supervision: Planning, Organizing, Influencing and Controlling.
- Analyse different management styles and the results from each, to determine the best style for each situation.
- Apply specific management styles and motivational techniques in the workplace to increase and enhance productivity.
This course is open-entry. There are no prerequisites for entry.
