Who We Are - About the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean

The University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) is Jamaica’s largest privately-held premier higher educational institution providing students with world class educational programs and highly trained and qualified local & international faculty.

The institution has its headquarters in Kingston Jamaica. It was formed in 2004 as a result of the merger in 2002 of the Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) incorporated in 1992 and the Institute of Management & Production (IMP) incorporated in 1976. The new expanded institution remains one of the fastest growing institutions in the country as well as in the Caribbean region.

Admission Requirements

All students applying for undergraduate programs must submit the following:

  • An application fee (non-refundable) of US$100
  • Application for Admission
  • High school diploma, GED, or Certificate of Equivalency / Proficiency (with minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 from high school)
  • Passes in 5 GCE O Level passes at A, B or C including Mathematics and English or International Baccalaureate (IB) or other international qualification deemed equivalent (subject to UCC approval) - Regional (Caribbean) Applicants Only
  • One electronic passport size photo
  • Copy of passport information page
  • Financial documentation demonstrating that the student can support him/herself during his/her stay in Jamaica (to be sent along with completed UCC Affidavit of Support Form)
  • Official Transcripts of all secondary school (and other universities) coursework and grades (translated in English). “Official” means that the applicant must request that his school send transcripts directly to the UCC Registry ( OR

The language of instruction at UCC is English. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate English Language proficiency, through the completion of an approved English testing regime such as, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

FeesTuition & Scholarship for OECS Regional Students
Tuition of US$4,000 - Offering a 25% Tuition Waiver/Scholarship - Tuition will be US$3000 after application of US$1,000 scholarship.


Tuition & Scholarships for International Students
Region A
: Africa, Central America & the other parts of the Caribbean, South America
Tuition of US$15,000 - Offering a 25% Tuition Waiver/Scholarship - Tuition will be US$7,500 after application of US$5,000 scholarship.

Region B: Asia, Middle East, & Greater Arabia
Tuition of US$15,000 - Offering a 50% Tuition Waiver/Scholarship - Tuition will be US$7,500 after application of US$7,500 scholarship.

Region C: North America, Europe & Australia.
Tuition of US$20,000 - Offering a 50% Tuition Waiver/Scholarship - Tuition will be US$10,000 after application of US$10,000 scholarship.
