Application & Admission Steps

The Application and Admissions Processes

The University College of the Caribbean (UCC), Jamaica’s largest privately-held tertiary education consortium, is Breaking New Frontiers in Higher Education.  All programme offerings have been developed to prepare students for an increasingly complex and diverse society.

To take advantage of one of these programmes UCC invites you to submit an application download application here.  The following steps are included in the application and admissions processes.   Please note them carefully.

Step 1: Application
If you wish to complete a UCC professional programme or degree, you must apply for admission to the institution. You may print the appropriate application form by clicking either the undergraduate or graduate programme tab.   Please complete and submit it at the address below along with an application fee of J$1000.00.  You may also apply online.     There is no application fee at this time if you apply online.Applications

Step 2: Offer Letter
Upon receipt of all relevant documents the Registry assesses and evaluates each completed application; applicants are notified within ten (10) work days of the status of the application and action taken.  An applicant should not consider himself/herself officially accepted to any programme, until he/she has received a formal letter of acceptance from the Registrar.

Step 3: Acceptance of Offer
On receipt of an Offer Letter from UCC, an applicant must sign and return the enclosed Acceptance Form on or before the date specified in the Offer Letter. Where an applicant fails to submit the Acceptance Form by the specified date, the applicant will be deemed to have declined the offer of a place at UCC.

Step 4: Late Applications
Late applications may be permitted up to two (2) weeks after the commencement of a programme.  Applications after this period may only be permitted at the discretion of the Registrar.   A non-refundable application fee of J$1000.00 must accompany the duly completed application form.

Step 5: Financial Aid Options
The UCC offers flexible payment options.  Contact our Student Financial Services Unit (SFS) for further details.  Qualified applicants may apply for loans through the Students’ Loan Bureau, the City of Kingston Co-op Credit Union and other financial institutions.

Step 6: Orientation and Registration
All individuals who accept the offer of a place in a UCC programme must attend the Orientation and Registration Sessions at the times and venue as stated in the Offer Letter. An individual must not consider him/herself a student of the UCC until he/she attended the Orientation and Registration Sessions and submitted all pertinent documentation and received an Official Admissions Pass Card.

Step 7: Payment of Tuition Fees
Ideally, annual tuition fees should be paid in advance, but individuals who are not company-sponsored, or those unable to make payment in full before the start of the programme (self-sponsored), may make payments according to a payment plan. This arrangement must be made with the Student Financial Services Unit.  For payments made according to this option, the term fee must be paid according to the stipulated deadlines.   Such persons will be eligible to sit all course tests and examinations for the period ONLY as covered by the payment plan. Methods of Payment

  • At offices of UCC using Debit Card, Credit Card or Manager’s Cheque.
  • If applying online there is an option for persons to use their Credit Cards.
