GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Commonwealth Executive Master’s Degree Programmes (Business Administration and Public Administration)
Normal admission to the CEMBA and CEMPA programmes requires the following:
- An earned Bachelor’s degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- A working knowledge of the English Language at the post-graduate studies level
- Complete the Commonwealth Executive Management Achievement Test (CEMAT) where required. The Grade Point Average (GPA) of a first degree determines whether or not the CEMAT is required. If the applicant has a bachelors’ degree with a Grade Point Average (GPA) greater than 2.5 then there is no requirement to sit the CEMAT. If the GPA falls below this level then the applicant is required to complete the CEMAT.
- Each applicant is required to attend an interview with a selected panel with representatives from the Graduate Studies Office and the Registry.
- Other documents required: completed Official UCC Graduate Studies Application Form, Transcript(s) of previous tertiary studies, two (2) completed official Reference Forms, two (2) recently certified passport size pictures, copy of Birth Certificate (and Marriage Certificate if applicable).
- Applicable application fee must be paid.
In addition to the above, as applicable, persons with managerial experience, but who do not possess a Bachelor’s degree are required to:
- Complete the Commonwealth Executive Management Achievement Test (CEMAT) where required. This exam is set by COL and forwarded to the partner institutions.
- Prior Learning Assessment (PLA). This process is currently used as a means of assessing an applicant’s suitability for admission to the programme and not to award advanced standing. This is complementary to the CEMAT. Applicants are expected to submit a resume or Curriculum Vitae.
